About Wirral Rise
Our Approach
Our ultimate aim is to support pupils in a way that enables them to return securely and sustainably to mainstream school when they are ready, with the right scaffolding in place. We also work in close partnership with the receiving school to ensure that the transition is carefully planned, supported, and successful for everyone involved.
Personalised Learning
Learning is child-led, interest-based, and often self-directed, fostering autonomy and motivation. Each young person has a bespoke Individual Learning Plan, linked to Sections E and F of their EHCP (where applicable), with clear goals and outcomes across key areas.

Our curriculum combines elements of the National Curriculum with a strong emphasis on EHCP-related development in areas such as:
-
Communication and Interaction
-
Cognition and Learning
-
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
-
Physical and Sensory needs
-
Functional independence and life skills

THE HUB
Support is delivered in person at our welcoming and therapeutic Hub in Upton Village—a calm, nurturing space carefully designed to reduce anxiety and encourage positive engagement. The environment offers children opportunities to learn in a safe and supportive setting, with a strong focus on emotional wellbeing and personalised learning. In addition to indoor learning, the provision includes regular visits out to explore nature, engage with the local community, and take part in sports and active play in nearby green spaces—helping children to build confidence, develop social skills, and enjoy hands-on, meaningful experiences beyond the classroom.
